Happy Canada Day! A decidedly Arctic chill continues to push down from James Bay and the weather wall. A bright sunrise in single digit temps will start a beautiful sunny day. The frostlike conditions will keep the bugs down. And the higher heat this aft will keep them at bay. Being sunny and a bit cool will lull you into thinking it is ok to be out in the sun all day. Save the aloe vera for work tomorrow. And make sure to get that round of golf played this morning! Lots of fire works tonight when the temps will be much warmer as the warm front moves in – possibly bringing some rain with it. There is a major weather system coming from Wisconsin – but it will be deflated when it hits GBay late today.
The Weather Network has released its Summer Forecast and it is a result of the cold weather wall in place going from Greenland, across northern Quebec and into Hudson Bay. Our cooler air continues to flow down from Hudson Bay meeting the warm air closer to us. This will give us unstable weather fore the summer months. But there will be lots of good times included – with some intense bursts coming through.
Our opening temperature starts at 9C(FL 9C) and will warm to 24C (FL 29C) in the afternoon and then down to 16C (FL 15C) overnight. That weather wall keeps the cool air close by!
The UV Index
The UV index is HIGH from sunrise to sunset.
The Pollen Index is high. The bees will be loving this. Honey production should be strong.
The Weather Dog (Replaces the Weather Stone!)
The weather dog came in from his morning patrol – Wet belly = Wet Grass. Good for walking the course today.
The Bug Index
The Bug Index is high with the blackflies and the mosquitoes both in season. The warmer temps have eliminated many as we play bug free fore the most part. But the continually running water provides great breeding spots! The breeze at Muskoka Highlands keeps most winged raptors away from you while you are golfing!
The Fire index
The Fire Index is LOW in this cool dry weather. It reflects the impact of Hudson Bay weather dominating Quebec and Ontario. This will change as we get into normal summer temps. The forest rangers in our area can continue to relax – still no sign of dry bush anytime soon.
A sunny day is a golf day. Congrats to Christine Cousins on her hole in one this weekend. And so many players remarking about the fun they had on their round!
The Webers index is predicting a busy week. Let Summer roll!!
Golf Hint fore today – the weekend ends today. But Summer really starts to roll. We recognize that time is a key element each of these 9 weekends of summer. Time to play, time for the dock – a delicate balance. We play 18 holes in 2.5 hours on a normal day. You can too. Play early. Play ready golf.
