Clear skies, and the furnace is on again! Another beautiful day when the sun warms things up. These warmer temps are bringing moist air from the Gulf and this will fall on us after noon tomorrow until late into the evening. Friday is looking good!
The cold weather has formed another wall from Greenland, across northern Quebec and into Hudson Bay. Our cooler air continues to flow down from Hudson Bay meeting the warm air closer to us. This wall has to move away to permit the normal flow of summer air to get to our region on a consistent basis.
Our opening temperature starts at +4C(FL +3C) and will warm to +22C (FL +22C) in the afternoon and then down to a chilly +14C (FL +12C) overnight. Mid June and we are close to freezing overnight!!
The UV Index
The UV index is high today with clear skies. Get the sunglasses ready!
The pollen Index is high – everything is in full bloom or past. The pollen is everywhere – just check the hood of your car! The allergy sufferers continue to sneeze!
The Bug Index
Who loves this weather? The bugs! They will be hiding in the grass close to the ground where there might be some heat to let them survive. Only not as much at Muskoka Highlands if the ever-present breeze is blowing!
The warmer breeze yesterday helped to bring us back to drier conditions. On the tractor last night fertilizing the fairways and the wheels were pressing water out of the ground in most areas. The saturation just below ground level is noticeable.
Golf Hint fore today – not every course has a practice facility like the one at Muskoka Highlands. But if you were to hit a few balls and run a few putts before seeing the first tee, you would be so much better prepared than your playing partners. Get the brain into game state.
The view from here..
The greening of the course is speeding up…Overseeding of the greens starts today. Here is hoping we get warmer weather to encourage the seed to germinate.
