The Overview

Laura takes and Laura gives. We are on the giving end of Hurricane Laura as she transits the northern US, spinning off these wee fronts to the more fortunate. The rain overnight was perfect. It is now starting to clear fore the day. It will be a mixed start with random rain across the region. Just because it is raining where you are does not mean it is raining where you are going. The last little frontal wet assault will happen before 8AM, and then we start into the cool overcast part of the day. So it is golf clubs or a book in a corner. Your call – but the book will always be there as will the corner. Your best game ever cannot wait that long!

In this transition to Fall, nobody can forecast beyond that with any credible accuracy. I once challenged the President of Environment Canada as to why there were 7 day forecasts that were never right. He replied it was because people were asking for them – whether they were right or wrong. So we are masters of our own demise. Stick to 24-48 hour looks and we should have a better than even chance of being happy.

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at 14C(FL 14C) and it feels cool this morning. It will warm to 19C (FL 21C) in the afternoon and then cool to 12C (FL 10C) overnight. Seems the wind chill is making a comeback!
Winds – the epicenter of the winds is just north of Parry Sound. Outside, they are swirling coming from all directions like a funnel. We are getting them out of the south east this morning. Parry Sound is getting them out of the North. Quite the picture.
