The Overview

It looks like a beautiful November day out there. The snow last night and again this morning have dusted everything, including the roads. And there will be random snow through the day. We have time to appreciate the beautiful landscape that Mother Nature has painted fore us today. Get out the camera and shoot lots of memories. This snow will be gone by Saturday. And who knows if there will be more? The trees and grass have awakened so the pollen is starting to move from some of the earlier blooming limbs. We are not in control. Thanks fore the reminder Mother Nature!
Remain committed to self-isolation with a reasonable edge. There is no need to walk on sidewalks when there is so much natural terrain in Muskoka. Social distancing – not a problem here. Maintain your mental health. Help others keep theirs with safe contact. We are trying to work with the provincial government to get courses open at some point in the near future. Moot point right now with the weather. But the grass is green. Keep an eye on your neighbour – especially if they are elderly (remember – there are more Canadians over 65 than under 16).

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -4C(FL -7C) with some snow down. It will rise to 1C (FL -4C) in the afternoon and then cool to -4C (FL -8C) overnight. Let’s remember who is in control of this show.
The winds are still out of the West and bit lighter at just over 20kph into the evening when they will quiet. They will remain from the West through tomorrow. Is this some level of consistency coming back to weather?

Course Update

We are back in the chilly snow fore a couple more days – likely back into warmer on the weekend. This is Mother Nature telling us to stay home. Even golf is on weather lock-down.

The golf season is close. And there is nothing like being prepared – we need to restore our ball inventory. And new balls mean a new season. We have our e-commerce portal where you can purchase the 4 4 3 Titleist ProV brand or the Callaway brand of golf balls as a Spring Special. If you can’t actually golf, you can read about golf. And if you want to mentally play the course, you are welcome to pre-pay some rounds and dream that you are using them every day!

Are you of age less than 40? Ask about our graduated member programs. $10 per year under 26, $20 x age til you are 40. We know you need to keep some cash for living – so we have made this as affordable as possible. Call us – we will confirm this.

Think outside the normal golf tournament box. We have great options involving FootGolf and LawnBowling that can involve the non-golfer in your event! Call us – we some unique concepts.

Course Wildlife - not the ones on the carts!

Golf courses are a nature preserve where we get all sorts of animals cruising about. You never know what you will see – keep the camera ready! With the ponds just about clear of ice, these birds are back and it is wonderful to see!!

The Dogs

Hendrik likes this view. He is loyal and stays around home. He keeps our Cortisol (stress levels) in check and fore this we are grateful. With the ponds now open, he is quite happy to watch any activity on them.

A Special Day In A Wonderful Setting

Weddings are a special day for many people involved. Here at Muskoka Highlands, we reduce that stress with attention to every detail.
But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.

Do you want to feel the warmth of a timber-frame clubhouse? Drop us an inquiry – weddings@muskokahighlands.com. We will respond and we will work with you to make your day special.
