The Overview

A cool overcast start to a beautiful day. The sun will move these clouds out and remain bright in the sky for the day. A warm sunny weekend has begun. There could be a small line of rain come from the north-west around 9ish but these have a way of disappearing when they meet GBay. IF it gets here, it will be a brief misting. The rest of the weekend – well, they sell aloe vera at the pharmacies…enjoy the sunshine!! And make sure to get that round of golf played each morning!

We are headed into Summer temps this week which will herald a hot Canada-Day long weekend (and deal with the small winged raptors)! Do you have your red and white clothes out and ready to wear?

The Weather Network has released its Summer Forecast and it is a result of the  cold weather wall in place going from Greenland, across northern Quebec and into Hudson Bay. Our cooler air continues to flow down from Hudson Bay meeting the warm air closer to us. This will give us unstable weather fore the summer months. But there will be lots of good times included – with some intense bursts coming through.

Today's Temps

Our opening temperature starts at 18C(FL 18C)  and will warm to 24C (FL 28C) in the afternoon  and then down to 14C (FL 13C) overnight.

The UV Index

The UV index is slow to start but will be HIGH by noon as the sun comes out for the day.

Pollen Index

The Pollen Index is high. The bees will be loving this. Honey production should be strong.

The Weather Dog (Replaces the Weather Stone!)

The weather dog came in from his morning patrol – Dry belly = Dry Grass. Good for walking the course today.

The Bug Index

The Bug Index is high with the blackflies and the mosquitoes both in season. These warmer temps have eliminated many as we play bug free fore the most part. The breeze at Muskoka Highlands keeps most winged raptors away from you while you are golfing!

The Fire index

The Fire Index is LOW in this cool dry weather. It reflects the impact of Hudson Bay weather dominating Quebec and Ontario. This will change as we get into normal summer temps. The forest rangers in our area can continue to relax – still no sign of dry bush anytime soon.

Course Update

A sunny day is a golf day. The course is getting back into its normal shape more quickly in this heat. Grass is an amazing plant. It responds on its own time depending on the weather. The weekend is here and it is great.

The Webers index is predicting a busy week.

Golf Hint fore today – the weekend starts today. We recognize that time is a key element each of these 9 weekends of summer. Time to play, time for the dock – a delicate balance. We play 18 holes in 2.5 hours on a normal day. You can too. Play early. Play ready golf.
