The Overview

A steady flow of warmer air from the East is creating a low that is rotating counter clock-wise. This tends to have a mix of weather in it – rain, freezing rain and the snow for PSM. And all of this will happen overnight and into tomorrow morning. By noon tomorrow we should be back into snow (likely wet) as this system continues to rotate overhead. The snow will remain in our region through Sunday.

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -3C(FL -7C) and it will rise to +2C (FL-2C) in the afternoon and then drop slightly to +1C (FL -4C) overnight. Those winds from the SE are bringing ill-tempered weather fore January.

The winds are turning unfriendly as we head to the weekend. They will be a light breeze from the East today, and into Saturday – not a good sign.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 7:45AM, Sunset – 5:13PM. We have gained 134 seconds of daylight since Winter Solstice. 56 days to Spring Equinox – March 20th.

Road Report

The plows are out on the Hwy 17 corridor, otherwise most are back in the yards resting. This will change overnight as the next weather system arrives.

School Bus Status

School bus report – no cancellations as the radar is clear. There will be weather tonight – likely after everyone is safely home from school.

Snowmobile Report

Snowmobile Trail Update – OFSC is reporting over 17273 km of open trails. The trails are open around Algonquin Park in an ever increasing radius. More trails will open as we can expect more snow North of PSM.

A Special Day In A Wonderful Setting

Weddings are a special day for many people involved. Here at Muskoka Highlands, we reduce that stress with attention to every detail.
But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.

Do you want to feel the warmth of a timber-frame clubhouse? Drop us an inquiry – weddings@muskokahighlands.com. We will respond and we will work with you to make your day special.
