Warm air carries moisture. And when it hits the cold weather wall coming down from Hudson Bay, we get rain. And that is happening this morning, and through most of the day. It will clear overnight and through Friday. But it is a rotating low out of the north that is looking to bring rain back for early Saturday. Beyond that, nobody knows – so stand by tomorrow for a better look at this.
The cold weather wall has formed from Greenland, across northern Quebec and into Hudson Bay. Our cooler air continues to flow down from Hudson Bay meeting the warm air closer to us. This wall has to move away to permit the normal flow of summer air to get to our region on a consistent basis.
Our opening temperature starts at +14C(FL +14C) and will “warm” to +15C (FL +14C) in the afternoon and then down to a cool +11C (FL +11C) overnight. Mid June and we are still well below normal and wetter than normal!!
The UV Index
The UV index is off today with cloudy skies. Get the umbrellas ready!
The pollen Index is high – everything is in full bloom or past. The pollen is everywhere – just check the hood of your car! The allergy sufferers continue to sneeze!
The Bug Index
Who loves this weather? The bugs! The wet weather will bring them out in hordes. Only not as much at Muskoka Highlands if the ever-present breeze is blowing!
The warmer breeze yesterday is just a nice memory today. The saturator is back in action today, with some drying tomorrow. The fertilizer is down, and we are slitting the fairways over the next few days.
Golf Hint fore today – the tee time separation is designed with a purpose. Resist the urge to hit quickly on the first tee. Let the group ahead of you get close to the green before you hit. This will reduce the chance of you waiting on every shot on every hole.
The view from here..
The greening of the course is speeding up…Overseeding of the greens is progressing nicely. Here is hoping we get warmer weather to encourage the seed to germinate.
