2020 08 03 At 6.26.35 Am A Dull Day

The Overview

There is a strong weather front moving from the southwest to the northeast – well below Muskoka. The edge of this unit will pass over us early this morning and then we should be clear of it. The winds are coming from the North likely being drawn by hurricane Isaias which is pounding the Carolinas. The heavy cloud cover is here for another day, making outside activities a bit more manageable. This will all pass through today and we should be in better shape tomorrow. There are still some pockets of rain showing but they are random acts of wet that might or might not cross our domains.

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at 17C(FL 17C) in the quiet of the morning. It will warm to 22C (FL 26C) in the afternoon and then “cool” to 14C (FL 13C) overnight.
Winds – the winds are being drawn from the North again today. This will all change as Isaias moves north and into history.

The UV index remains MODERATE today – again with a heavy cloud cover.

Allergy Index

The Allergy Index is LOW. We are into August – the rain and cool are recharging the plants – the pollen is coming back! Here comes the ragweed…The mold index is HIGH – careful to eat the fresh fruit before it starts to go….!

The Bug Index

The Bug Report – the rating is MODERATE – all winged combatants are still about. So are the sticky strips (watch your hair) and fly swatters (just how good are you with that first swing?).

Sunrise

Sunrise – 6:07AM, Sunset – 8:39PM. Sunshine time is slipping away 2-3 minutes per day. It is time to make life happen……

The Fire index

Fire Index –the index is LOW in our area – understandable with this past rain and continued cooler temps.

Course Update

The threat of rain is worse than actual rain. It isn’t raining – but the public broadcasters would make you think it will – even here in Muskoka. The big wet front is passing well to our south east so at worst we might get a bit of drizzle fore part of this morning. Just part of golf as the Scots would say. Still a great day to golf.
