The Overview

Today might be a break from the snow falling. It might still blow around, but the radar is clear fore the day. The mild day could make it pleasant fore many. We still need more snow for the snowmobile trails to open. Around 7PM there will be another snow front arrive, followed by streamers that will last well into tomorrow. If you travelled to Florida for warm, you are waking up to 7C! The jet stream wanted to feel the Gulf of Mexico!

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -5C(FL -8C) and it will rise to -0C (FL -4C) in the afternoon and then drop to -7C (FL -14C) overnight. Still in the snow zone.

The winds are from the NW at about 11kph swinging to the SW at 10AM and then the South fore the day before going back to the NW overnight. Tomorrow will see them shift further to the North and in that 10kph to 20kph range.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 7:55AM, Sunset – 4:51PM. The day is lengthening by seconds daily – we have gained 74 seconds of daylight since Winter Solstice. The sun starts setting later – by 4 seconds every day on average. The sun will rise about the same time. Around Jan 8th, the rate of change will increase and the sun will rise earlier, and set later through til June. Yay!

Road Report

As this large front clears to the East, the plows are working hard to keep the roads open and safe. The now front tonight will keep them busy.

School Bus Status

School bus report – no cancellations at this point – should be no reason to cancel today!

Snowmobile Report

Snowmobile Trail Update – there are no trails officially open south of Temiskaming. Trailering is the order of the month so far if you want to ride.

Course Update

Your season can begin today. The hi-def indoor simulator is operating and ready fore you and your foursome. Keep the banter going all winter. Now is the time to start getting the swing in shape fore opening day, or before you might be headed South fore a golf trip. Call the clubhouse 7056461060 to book your time.

There can’t be enough snow for the golf course. The grass loves this white duvet. It is quietly sleeping under all of this, getting ready for the sound of the ball landing on it somewhere – hopefully the fairway!
