The Overview

The temperature tells the story for the weather. Being at the freezing line, we are apt to see a snow rain mix continue. With the winds out of the West, it should be more snow than rain. However, this snow will be wet and sticky, turning to ice when compacted on the roads. The snow base has consolidated with yesterday’s mix of precip. Mid week temps will be colder, firming this base for snow riders and skiers. Decks and roofs with snow load will see the weight of this increase significantly in these temps – best to keep them somewhat clear. Fire and Ice in Bracebridge was a solid success. The tube ride was extremely busy and we had the opportunity to be at the top of the run starting riders – lots of smiles and screams of delight! Success for and congrats to all who made this happen!

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -0C(FL -4C) and it will “rise” to +1C (FL-4C) in the afternoon and then drop slightly to -2C (FL -6C) overnight.

The winds have moved to the West in the 10kph to 20kph range and with these temps they will bring snow off of GBay most of the day. They will remain out of the West through tomorrow.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 7:43AM, Sunset – 5:15PM. We have gained 142 seconds of daylight since Winter Solstice. 54 days to Spring Equinox – March 20th.

Road Report

The plows are out across the province. This counter-rotating low pressure system is keeping the mild temperatures and the snow-rain mix in our region for the next 24 hours. This will keep the plows busy!
