The Overview

Winter remains stalled over Muskoka – with the warmer temps holding in our region. It will be a quiet day today and tomorrow fore weather. Not so much in Southern Ontario where a snow storm will pass across the northern edge of Lakes Ontario and Erie. We will get snow streamers chasing down Georgian Bay and into Toronto over the next 48 hours. Driving might be a challenge if you are headed South.

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at +3C(FL +1C) and it will stay at +3C (FL +0C) in the afternoon and then fall to -4C (FL -7C) overnight.

The winds be a light breeze from the South at around 4kph til late in the day when they will shift to the SE. They will make their way around to the North later tomorrow, which will bring the snow streamers to Barrie-Toronto corridor.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 7:55AM, Sunset – 4:47PM. The day is lengthening by seconds daily – we have gained 57 seconds of daylight since Winter Solstice. The sun starts setting later – by one minute every day on average. The sun will rise about the same time. Around Jan 8th, the rate of change will increase and the sun will rise earlier, and set later through til June. Yay!

Road Report

The plows are resting as the roads are clear of snow and ice. They will get a couple of days of rest before a system moves in from the SW.

Course Update

Golf is infectious – even if Muskoka courses are closed for the next 97 days. But why wait for Spring. The hi-def indoor simulator is operating and starting to get some good play. The smiles and chatter all indicate a great time. Now is the time to start getting the swing in shape fore opening day, or before you might be headed South fore a golf trip. Call the clubhouse 7056461060 to book your time.

This warmer weather is not great for anybody – ski hills need it a tad cooler, and golf courses also prefer snow over rain.

The Simulator is Open!

When the golf bug bites and you can’t find a tee deck open anywhere, what do you do? You head to Muskoka Highlands where we have a state of the art hi-def simulator at the ready fore your game. With over 20 courses, we have a course fore everyone. And if you want a gathering with golf involved, we have all sorts of games on the simmy that your entire group can play. Where do you think we have taken you fore this hole?

The Dogs

Dog Update – Wizard is in the Autism Assist program. The trainers love him as he is so huggable!

We have heard from Angus and his owner Bill – great story that we will tell in the new year. Ancaster (Ellis) is hosting a major fundraiser in March. And Gavin continues to impress his new owner.

A Special Day In A Wonderful Setting

Weddings are a special day for many people involved. Here at Muskoka Highlands, we reduce that stress with attention to every detail.
But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.

Do you want to feel the warmth of a timber-frame clubhouse? Drop us an inquiry – weddings@muskokahighlands.com. We will respond and we will work with you to make your day special.
