Today will be a second of two drying days in a row – a record for 2019! Overnight we will get rain and the old ‘rain at 7 quit by 11’ will apply as it will be done by noon on Tuesday. There are two serious weather systems in Hudson Bay one of which is pressing down with cold air into Quebec and Northern Ontario, and one west of that which is letting the warm air flow well north. We are on the edge of both. Conflicting systems will continue to deliver variable weather for the next wee while.
Our opening temperature starts at +5C(FL +4C) and will warm to +17C (FL +17C) in the afternoon and then down to +9C (FL +8C) overnight. It is a struggle to get good heat. Just ask the farmers around Guelph who are using helicopters to fertilize fields because the earth is too wet to support equipment.
The UV index is stong today with bright sunshine.
The index is high. Everything is in bud – here comes the pollen! We can see it on the ground under the trees.
The course was dried nicely yesterday. Today takes us one step further in this process. Tonight and into tomorrow morning – rain again. With the heat today, the grass will respond. Patience! The time to scratch your golf itch is now!
