The Overview

We are back into winter fore a few days this week. The North winds will blast our faces, and freeze the wet snow we had over the weekend making it feel like concrete. The roads could be tricky as ice has formed in many spots and we won’t feel this until too late – so drive carefully! The radar is clear except for a few snow streamers south of GBay. The temps will rise again fore the weekend. There seems to be a pattern here. The weather battle fore the 45th is on!

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -4C(-9C) and it will rise to -2C (FL-7C) in the afternoon and then drop to -6C (FL -11C) overnight. The North winds have brought the chill back into Winter.

The winds are out of the North at 10kph. They will stay there fore most of the day. They will remain there through tomorrow.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 7:42AM, Sunset – 5:17PM. We have gained 144 seconds of daylight since Winter Solstice.

Road Report

The plows are out across the province dealing with the change in temperature and the need to commute. We are in ideal ice conditions with the saturated banks leaking onto highways. Care and caution are key words fore your travel today.

School Bus Status

School bus report – no cancellations and a colder wait fore the bus this morning. It will be slippery as the slush freezes so boots are advised (but not usually welcomed as a suggestion).

Snowmobile Report

OFSC is reporting 16500 km of open trails. The trails are open around Algonquin Park. The weekend’s weather is over and we are back into cooler temps which will consolidate the base. Now we need more snow to open more trails!
There are 73 days til green grass. We know you are getting restless to golf. The golf bug bite will continue to itch and needs to be scratched. The hi-def indoor simulator is operating and ready fore you and your foursome. It will feel odd carrying clubs through snow – but the reward is greater! Book now! It is time to start getting the swing in shape fore opening day, or before you might be headed South fore a golf trip. Call the clubhouse 7056461060 to book your time.
