The calm before the storm…It will be a quiet day. Tomorrow is going to be quite stormystarting about 11AM with snow, possibly some freezing rain about 11PM and then back to snow overnight. Right now, most roads in our region look good except below Honey Harbour and Washago where the roads are partly covered right through to Toronto.
Our opening temperature starts at -11C (FL -11C) and will rise through the day getting to -6C (FL -11C) in the afternoon and then to -11C (FL -18C) overnight.
The UV index will be on today as the sun will be out.
The reflective index is strong as the remaining snow is one of the best mirrors for sunshine. Sunglasses will likely be needed today!!
The Pond Index is at Strong. As always, caution is needed on any frozen surface. These temps will reset the playing surface on your ponds.
Road report – the Muskoka roads for the most part are showing as blacktop. But the roads between Honey Harbour/Washago and Toronto are showing as partly covered.
School Busses are RUNNING as of press time. For current info on the busses click here.
The Ski Resorts are wide open – more here . Conditions vary by resort, and grooming will be key. Be prepared for some slick ice in spots.
The snow mobile trails remain closed in the south of Muskoka and many in our region show as marginal. Lake slush remains a serious problem. Click here for more information on the status of registered trails.
