The Overview

The wind map shows the cold breath of air pushing down from the north. It is straight out of a Jack Frost movie. This weekend is not one for the cottage unless it is well insulated with lots of firewood right beside the back door. Water lines could freeze if they are in already. But it will pass as we get into the second half of May – just in time fore the long weekend and mayhem in Muskoka Parry Sound.
Mother Nature closed the golf courses in November, and she is working hard to keep them closed in May. The temperatures have been consistently cool, teasing the grass into greening, but not into strengthening. The polar vortex has pushed our potential opening date to next weekend at the earliest.

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -2C(FL -5C) in sunshine. It will warm to 13C (FL 12C) in the afternoon and then cool to -0C (FL -4C) overnight. The warm before the snap freeze.
Winds – the steady 10kph flow of Northern air will keep it cooler through the day. The winds will increase in speed through Thursday night when they will get into the 30KPH range. The picture shows the blast of cold descending from the North…

But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.
