I introduce you to Chris Copeman – our new Superintendent of Golf here at Muskoka Highlands Golf Links. Chris worked with Nic Bell last season and brought his knowledge and experience to bear on many issues we faced with a wet growing season. He will be our man on the switch for playing conditions this year, as Nic moves into his entrepreneurial adventure.
Chris has been in the golf industry for 13 years in a variety of positions at various courses, most recently at Deerhurst Resort. He came through the highly respected University of Guelph where he attained his diploma in Golf Course Operations. He knows his way around a golf course – on a mower, or with clubs in hand. His current handicap is 15 – which is great for us as he spends more time on the mower side of things than the playing side!!
Chris is also bringing a solid base of knowledge of beer and will work with others to deliver various beer tastings to you and your guests when you play here. He will be our unofficial (not sure there is an official category of this) beer sommelier. Stay tuned for the tastings!
We look forward to an innovative and dedicated season with Chris. Please take time to chat with him when you are next at the course. He has started as of today – so is available most days for a conversation.
Thank you for your support of your club. We truly enjoy having you as a member here!
Regards,
Don and Joyce MacKay – and Gavin
