The Overview

Hello May – we have big expectations of you! Another beautiful evening after a so-so day. It will be clear today – albeit cloudy. No worry about a sunburn but allergy sneezing will continue. Rain will cruise through tomorrow after lunch until early evening – not another nice sunset after another rainy day!! Hey Mother Nature – rain at night is good by us!
We elect leaders to lead. And we expect them to bring us out of problems after guiding us through them. All of Canada’s provinces have announced programs – except Ontario and Nova Scotia. Yes we are a large province. Yes we have Toronto. But now is the time we will see if we have the right leaders in place to guide us back into operation. It is said you cannot cut forever – you have to rebuild. Now is that time.
All of the other provinces have all decided to name golf as an industry sector that can open quickly. So we are hopeful Ontario will follow these examples. It is time to assess the risks and start moving in a positive fashion. Golf poses very low risk in moving forward. Courses are trained in controlling the flow of patrons. This will just have a few new wrinkles to it. We do it every day in our lives. I think we can handle this responsibility mostly. There are some golfers who leave common sense at home. We deal with them politely and professionally. This will not change even in C19 times.

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at 7C(FL 4C) in cloud over. It will warm to 16C (FL 15C) in the afternoon and then cool to 3C (FL 1C) overnight. Wet n windy.
Winds – the Westerly breezes are being fed from the South coming up the Great Lakes and across Gbay to PSM. This feed of Gulf air will warm things through the weekend. unfortunately the wind has been anything but consistent leaving us at the mercy of cooler temps early next week.

Road Report

Road report – Lots of plows out today –as traffic barriers for construction. South of Parry Sound on the 400 has a major site. It is a wise use of time with fewer cars on the road. Get the roads fixed before we are permitted to travel again. Drive carefully!

Allergy Index

The Allergy Index is MODERATE with the winds pushing pollen around. Thanks to Cedar, Juniper and hardwoods like Boxelder and Maple Alder who are budding and starting to exhaust their Spring pollen.

A Special Day In A Wonderful Setting

Weddings are a special day for many people involved. Here at Muskoka Highlands, we reduce that stress with attention to every detail.
But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.

Do you want to feel the warmth of a timber-frame clubhouse? Drop us an inquiry – weddings@muskokahighlands.com. We will respond and we will work with you to make your day special.
