The Overview

Cloud cover outside, lots of active radar inside. It is going to an intermittently wet day today. A great day to charge the irrigation system! Or stay inside….again. We actually need this rain to prime the Spring growth. Nothing waters like Mother Nature. We will be a changed course by next week.
To say yesterday’s announcement by Doug Ford was an disappointment to businesses would be stating the obvious. This is Ford’s first mis-step in this program so we will give him that one. Now it is time to separate the LTC Covid numbers from the general population number to see how this lockdown is really working. I think we are further ahead than we might realize. It is time to assess the risks and start moving in a positive fashion. We do it every day in our lives. I think we can handle this responsibility mostly. Just like driving, there are always a few idiots out there – but we do not close the highways. We deal with them.
The smaller provinces have gone first and shown great leadership. Ontario has a bit larger problem based on population but that is part of the mantle elected people accept. Handle it and let’s get going. BC kept their courses open through the pandemic and they are ahead of Ontario in flattening the curve. Coincidence? Think May 5th – and find the online petition on Facebook to sign. The more names the better. The grass is green. In the mean time, keep an eye on your neighbour – especially if they are elderly (remember – there are more Canadians over 65 than under 16).

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at 4C(FL 2C) in cloud over. It will warm to 10C (FL 8C) in the afternoon and then cool to 6C (FL 2C) overnight. Wishy washy warm.
Winds – SE breezes at 15kph bringing in the random rain fore the day. The big show is tomorrow.

Guidelines are too vague to see an opening timeline at this point.

The Dogs

Hendrik likes this view. He is loyal and stays around home. He keeps our Cortisol (stress levels) in check and fore this we are grateful. With the ponds now open, he is quite happy to watch any activity on them.

Weddings are a special day for many people involved. Here at Muskoka Highlands, we reduce that stress with attention to every detail.
But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.

Do you want to feel the warmth of a timber-frame clubhouse? Drop us an inquiry – weddings@muskokahighlands.com. We will respond and we will work with you to make your day special.
