Are we back to normal? Have the weather patterns settled down to give us predictable summer experiences? The hot and cool fronts still contend for space over us so we will see weather changes continue to happen through August. Today, there is a decent chance of intense rain between 12 and 2. It will from the West but could lose steam over GBay.
Our opening temperature at 630 is a cool 12C (FL28C) – warming to 25C (FL31C). When the approaching cool front hits this hot humid air, we will get the intense rain. The change will bring more seasonal day-time highs for the next week.
The UV will scoot to 6 today with the clearing of the skies.
The Air Quality Index is quiet at 1 reflecting the clear but humid air we are breathing.
The Pollen index remains moderate with Plantain and grasses being the culprits.
The Pesky Fly Index will remain stable with this increasing heat.
The Fire Index is back to LOW! We understand the fire bans have been lifted in many areas of Muskoka – best to consult with your local municipality on this matter before striking that match. Caution is still needed as we still need more rain to truly moisten the ground. The last rain was good, but the ground was not as receptive due to its very dry condition.
It’s a great day to be outside (except around noon-2). Muskoka is a hive of activity every day of the summer. The list of sports and the number of arts/cultural events is fantastic. When you come to golf at Muskoka Highlands, you should plan on visiting the Artful Garden – say Hi to Walnut the chocolate lab!
