Muskoka Highlands is moving towards their 4th Golf In Schools season. We are the only course in the Muskoka region that supports our community by engaging the youth into a healthy lifestyle.
Golf In Schools is a nationally acclaimed program that supports junior golf by linking golf courses and schools together. The objective is to promote and educate the youth and parents about the benefits of taking up golf. The initial process is an in-school visit that then follows up with golf course visit. Following the school season the junior and one other adult can part take in a FREE round at Muskoka Highlands. All students that part-take in this program learn the FUNdamentals of the golf swing and also gain knowledge towards sportsmanship, camaraderie, and relationships.
We currently put over 1400 public school students through this program as well as support our local high schools teams through coaching and player development.
We have also partnered up with the schools in the area to run a non-competitive golf tournament for the senior grades, this will be our second year running this event and have over 80 participants. We hope to engage the game of golf within our younger demographic of the community.
We are here to nurture our youth and grow them into the responsible, respectful, and athletic individuals they meant to be.
