The Overview

Good Bye November – you were quite the weather entertainer with all sorts of acts. We are headed into December likely with a bang – a snow bomb is set to go off in our region tomorrow. With a special weather statement and radar that seconds the motion, we will be hit with some serious snow starting early in the morning. Some Santa parades have happened with green grass beside the roads. The Bracebridge parade will happen with a snow theme. Bundle Up! The snow should start around 9AM and with a rotating low overhead it will fall through into the evening. This is a large weather system that stretches from the East Coast back to us.

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -10C(FL -14C) and it will rise to -4C (FL -8C) in the afternoon and the drop back to -8C (FL -16C) overnight. Layer up.

The ill winds from the East remain steady around 15kph, swinging down to the South and eventually out of the SW late today. Sunday they will move to the North increasing in speed a wee bit to 17kph.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 7:34AM, Sunset – 4:36PM. Like sand in the hourglass, 9 hours of daylight continue to slip into 15 hours of darkness.

Course Update

Golf is like life – life is like golf. So it is hard to keep it out of mind – even if Muskoka courses are closed for the next 134 days. With the mild wet weather, we keep getting asked if the pins are back in – they are not. But why wait for Spring. The hi-def indoor simulator is operating and starting to get some play. The smiles and chatter all indicate a great time. Our simulator league starts December 1 – with 3 practice rounds before the new year. And the one round on the same course for everyone every week through the end of March. Prizing, skins – the game is the same, but the walk is shorter.
A golf course is built on dirt, but survives on its reputation. This weather has closed the course. This weather is permitting the fairway recovery to continue as we see the grass coming back strongly even at these temps. All is good on the ground. And this is where we put our reputation. The ultimate compliment any course can get is from you – the player – your second (and third and..) round at the course. We thank you fore this.

The Simulator is Open!

When the golf bug bites and you can’t find a tee deck open anywhere, what do you do? You head to Muskoka Highlands where we have a state of the art hi-def simulator at the ready fore your game. A Special Day In A Wonderful Setting

Weddings are a special day for many people involved. Here at Muskoka Highlands, we reduce that stress with attention to every detail.
But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.

Do you want to feel the warmth of a timber-frame clubhouse? Drop us an inquiry – weddings@muskokahighlands.com. We will respond and we will work with you to make your day special.
