The Overview

Let the storm begin. The snow drum is beating quite loudly. We are under a Snowfall Warning with upwards of 15-25cm of snow expected over the next 30 hours. The plows will be busy and your shovels and blowers should be ready fore a couple of days of good workout. The roads will be a challenge as the winds will be causing visibility problems by whipping the snow around. This will last most of today. This storm will remain with us until sometime around noon tomorrow. The cleanup can then be completed and we can return to clear weather activities on new snow. We will remain chilly until Wednesday when the temps will edge up to just below freezing.

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -24C(FL -20C) and it will rise to -9C (FL-17C) in the afternoon and then stay at -9C (FL -14C) overnight. The ill winds from the East are moderating the temps.

The winds are from the SE and will continue around to the East, increasing in speed to over 20kph fore most of the day. Overnight they will rotate through NE to North and continue at just under 15kph fore the day.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 7:50AM, Sunset – 5:05PM. We have gained 116 seconds of daylight since Winter Solstice.

Road Report

The plows are the canary in the snow coal mine. They are out throughout SW Ontario as the storm has reached there already. Plows in the Parry Sound Muskoka region will be getting loaded with sand/salt and going through their pre-op checks anytime now.
