We pride ourselves on running an inclusive and welcoming program for juniors. Among the features at Muskoka Highlands – no restrictions on tee times, our affordable Add Zero membership program, a wide range of tee decks to play from (3750 to 6000 yards), a full length driving range (with a bunch of cool targets to hit at!), bike access through Covered Bridge, club storage and an extensive list of junior golf camps and clinics to participate in.
Further testament to our commitment to junior golf is the Golf in Schools program. This year we will run the program in over 10 local schools and will introduce the game to over 1000 kids!
Why are we so concerned with junior golf? Yes, they are the future of the game. But more importantly, we firmly believe that while they hone their golf skills, juniors are simultaneously learning life and values skills like honesty, integrity and sportsmanship and respect.
Our unique Add Zero membership is an example of our commitment to growing the game. How does it work? If you’re under 20, you simple Add Zero to your age. If you’re 12, then it is only $120 + tax to golf for the year!
Muskoka Highlands has seen thousands of kids go through our junior camps over the past 25 years. Our 3-day (Tuesday-Thursday) camps are offered in both the morning and afternoon for 6 weeks starting in July. Attendees range in age from 8 to 15 years old, and from beginner to the seasoned player.
Our Saturday Junior Clinics are a great way to introduce to the game. The clinics are designed for the beginner and intermediate junior looking to have some fun and learn a bit about golf. No equipment? No problem! Just show up on a Saturday morning – you don’t even have to call ahead – we have lots of equipment for everyone.
Back this year! After a short hiatus, Junior Night is back at the Highlands. The night starts with a free 30-minute clinic covering a range of topics throughout the season. Follow it up with 9 holes and then prizes and a bite to eat!
Golf in Schools is a nationally acclaimed program endorsed by Golf Canada. The mission behind the program is to promote Junior Golf by giving local elementary students an opportunity to try the game. Over the past 4 years we brought the program to 6 of our local schools and we have nearly doubled that number in 2018!
