The Overview

Winter is back and the snow storms are in the cycle. We will get snow late today and well into tomorrow. The radars say there is a 24 hour break before the next front rolls in from the West. So it will be a snowy week. The temps look moderate over the next 2 weeks so it should be comfortable shovelling!

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -7C(FL -14C) and it will stay at -4C (FL -6C) in the afternoon and then rise to -3C (FL -8C) overnight. Still in the snow zone.

The winds are from the NW at about 15kph gradually losing speed until around 4PM when they swing to the SE which is our warning of the snow front approaching. Monday they will move to the NW and increase in speed as the snow front delivers on Muskoka.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 7:55AM, Sunset – 4:49PM. The day is lengthening by seconds daily – we have gained 65 seconds of daylight since Winter Solstice. The sun starts setting later – by 4 seconds every day on average. The sun will rise about the same time. Around Jan 8th, the rate of change will increase and the sun will rise earlier, and set later through til June. Yay!

Road Report

The Muskoka plows are resting until later today when a major snow front will cruise in from the NW. Meanwhile, the plows are out in Southern Ontario due to another snow storm coming down GBay and into Lakes Erie and Ontario. They might get to rest for 24 hours on Tuesday.

A Special Day In A Wonderful Setting

Weddings are a special day for many people involved. Here at Muskoka Highlands, we reduce that stress with attention to every detail.
But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.

Do you want to feel the warmth of a timber-frame clubhouse? Drop us an inquiry – weddings@muskokahighlands.com. We will respond and we will work with you to make your day special.
