The Overview

Spring is here with more light than dark. The temperatures remain in flux, keeping the melt at a reasonable pace, reducing the chance of flooding. The golf course is starting to show through. The roads are a bit slippery in spots with the light snow that your wheels will pound into ice quite quickly – hence the extensive salting happening this morning. The ski hills have closed due to Covid19 concerns. The snowmobile trails are closed due to conditions. And so we ride into the future not knowing when this group isolation will end. But the sun will shine and we all can walk about quietly keeping our exercise routines intact however possible. Golf is a great platform fore this. Stay positive and we will get through this together.

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -0C(-4C) and it will rise to +2 (FL-3C) in the afternoon and then slip to -10C (FL -13C). A weather see saw!
Today the winds start in the West at over 15KPH going to 25kph during the day. Tomorrow the winds abate and swing to the South. The one thing certain about the wind – it changes direction every day.

Road Report

Road report –a snow mass headed across Northern Ontario overnight with its southern extremity passing over PSM. It has left enough to get the plows out – most likely salting so the small accumulation does not become ice during traffic today.

Snowmobile Report

Snowmobile Trail Update – OFSC is reporting km (yesterday 10939 km) of open trails all north of Hwy 17. However, the golf carts are still snow-bound so it will be another couple of weeks at least before they are ready to go

Ski Report

The Ski Hills are now closed not due to the weather rather the Covid19 pandemic. See you in the Fall!

Course Update

There are 24 days til green grass – the chill is slowing the melt and this is likely good fore all. Golf is so close – the heart will be racing knowing green grass is starting to appear.
Golf will be a beacon of sanity in these crazy times. A walk in the outdoors with a couple of friends, or solo. With the new level of normal in personal care, it will be good fore the spirit as the heavy health news piles on daily. Know your partners and you will be able to manage your environment. We are consulting with owners in Florida and they are busy – and have extra wipe-downs happening of the public areas on a constant basis.
The hi-def indoor simulator remains in operation and ready fore you and your foursome only. Small groups of friends who want some time together, but socially distanced. Sanitizers abound, as does our care. Call the clubhouse 7056461060 to book your time.

The greens are starting to poke through and they are in fantastic condition. The product of a proper closing procedure and an easier winter. We will get you outside and walking soon.

But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.

Do you want to feel the warmth of a timber-frame clubhouse? Drop us an inquiry – weddings@muskokahighlands.com. We will work with you to make your day special.
