The Overview

Changeable weather is upon us once again. We will have random snow streamers today throughout the province. If you are lucky, it will miss your area. However, the winds are bringing warmer weather north (the jet stream was evicted from Florida!) and this will bring rain to much of southern Ontario starting in the wee hours of Friday morning. How this front tracks is open to speculation at this point – let’s hope it stays well south!

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -4C(FL -10C) and it will fall to -9C (FL -17C) in the afternoon and then drop to -15C (FL -22C) overnight. Snow squall warning.

The winds are from the NW peaking at about 20kph midday, and falling back tonight. Tomorrow will see them move around the compass to SW during the day, bringing a push of warmer air and rain to Southern Ontario late Thursday. An edge of this disturbance might reach as far north as Muskoka on Friday.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 7:55AM, Sunset – 4:52PM. The day is lengthening by seconds daily – we have gained 78 seconds of daylight since Winter Solstice. The sun starts setting later – by 4 seconds every day on average. We will now see a faster change each day – measured in minutes.

Road Report

The plows remain on the roads across the province. The snow streamers will keep many of them in Southern Ontario busy through the day.

School Bus Status

School bus report – no cancellations at this point – should be no reason to cancel today!

Snowmobile Report

Snowmobile Trail Update – there are no trails officially open south of Temiskaming. Trailering is the order of the month so far if you want to ride.

Course Update

Your season can begin today. The hi-def indoor simulator is operating and ready fore you and your foursome. Keep the banter going all winter. Now is the time to start getting the swing in shape fore opening day, or before you might be headed South fore a golf trip. Call the clubhouse 7056461060 to book your time.

There can’t be enough snow for the golf course. The rain front approaching Southern Ontario hopefully remains south. The grass loves this white duvet. It is quietly sleeping under all of this, getting ready for the sound of the ball landing on it somewhere – hopefully the fairway!

The Simulator is Open!

When the golf bug bites and you can’t find a tee deck open anywhere, what do you do? You head to Muskoka Highlands where we have a state of the art hi-def simulator at the ready fore your game. With over 20 courses, we have a course fore everyone. And if you want a gathering with golf involved, we have all sorts of games on the simmy that your entire group can play. Where do you think we have taken you fore this hole?

The Dogs

Dog Update – Wizard is in the Autism Assist program. The trainers love him as he is so huggable!

We have heard from Angus and his owner Bill – great story that we will tell in the new year. Ancaster (Ellis) is hosting a major fundraiser in March. And Gavin continues to impress his new owner.

A Special Day In A Wonderful Setting

Weddings are a special day for many people involved. Here at Muskoka Highlands, we reduce that stress with attention to every detail.
But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.

Do you want to feel the warmth of a timber-frame clubhouse? Drop us an inquiry – weddings@muskokahighlands.com. We will respond and we will work with you to make your day special.
