The Overview

The snow-globe rests today. Cold and clear – you can tell by the moon, as when it is out at night, it is a cold one. Overnight Friday the globe shakes again. The snow will arrive around midnight and be clear by 9AM. Random streamers will continue to be carried by the NW winds. There is another front that looks like it has set its arrival time mid-morning on Saturday. This will challenge the plow crews to keep the roads snow-free so travel will be an issue into the weekend. Moderate temps might arrive Sunday/Monday – but time will tell.

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -8C(FL -15C) and it will rise to -5C (FL -12C) in the afternoon and the drop back to -7C (FL -11C) overnight. The weather see-saw continues.

The winds start out of the NW til around dinner tonight when they quietly shift to the South. Early Friday they will start the migration through the West and back to the NW by 10AM – all at speeds less than 10 kph. Saturday they prefer the South once again as we head for a mild spell.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 7:40AM, Sunset – 4:35PM. Like sand in the hourglass, 9 hours of daylight continue to slip into 15 hours of darkness.

Road Report

The roads continue to look a bit messy this morning – south of Muskoka. They are showing as black within the region. But it looks like every plow in the north of the 401 at work dealing with this random snow.

School Bus Status

There are no Muskoka cancellations at this point.

Golf is infectious – why wait for the next 126 days to play. The hi-def indoor simulator is operating. The smiles and chatter all indicate a great time. Prizing, skins – the game is the same, but the walk is shorter.

A Special Day In A Wonderful Setting

Weddings are a special day for many people involved. Here at Muskoka Highlands, we reduce that stress with attention to every detail.
But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.

Do you want to feel the warmth of a timber-frame clubhouse? Drop us an inquiry – We will respond and we will work with you to make your day special.
