The special weather statement indicates snow squalls. And the air temperature combined with an open GBay set the scene for more snow today. We are just missing the wind which is bound to show up. There is a broad snow front headed towards all of Muskoka early this morning bringing intermittent snow squalls for most of the day.
Our opening temperature starts at -3C (FL -8C) going to -0C (FL -5C) through the day into the evening. A repeat of yesterday
The UV index might be shut today. Don’t look fore at that yellow orb – yes it still exists, but not fore us until maybe late this afternoon!!
The Pond Index remains at Dangerous. Ponds and lakes are still not safe to enter for walking or skating. Don’t bank on one cold night – it takes more than a week of this cold to prep the ice for travel of any sort.
Road report – the roads just south of Muskoka through to Barrie are partly covered already and this is likely to get worse, as well as widening to include through to the north of Muskoka. The plows are out in force early this morning.
