The Overview

The high temps and humidity will remain fore a few more days. There are weather fronts headed this way from Wisconsin and Michigan, but it is looking like GBay continues to absorb the brunt of their force. There is funky weather south of Muskoka and this will keep the attention of the radio broadcasters – but this weather is not coming our way. Saturday looks mostly clear with a storm front setting up south of Muskoka around noon and headed into Toronto later that day. Sunday is looking good.

A shout-out to the volunteer fire crews in Bracebridge, Gravenhurst and Muskoka Lakes fore their jobs well done. Unpaid and unheralded, you have withstood a gruelling test – and are to be congratulated for your dedication and execution in difficult conditions.

The Weather Network has released its Summer Forecast and it is a result of the  cold weather wall in place going from Greenland, across northern Quebec and into Hudson Bay. Our cooler air continues to flow down from Hudson Bay meeting the warm air closer to us. This will give us unstable weather fore the summer months. But there will be lots of good times included – with some intense bursts coming through.

Today's Temps

Our opening temperature starts at 21C(FL25)  and will warm to 29C (FL 39C) in the afternoon  and then down to 19C (FL 20C) overnight. Where would you rather be – at the office or at the cottage? You are only 20 minutes away with Porter Airlines!

The UV Index

The UV index is HIGH from sunrise to sunset.

Pollen Index

The Pollen Index is high. The bees will be loving this. Honey production should be strong.

The Weather Dog (Replaces the Weather Stone!)

The weather dog came in from his morning patrol – damp belly = damp grass.

The Bug Index

The Bug Index is LOW with the mosquitoes still hanging in there. The deer flies are making their appearance – and so the onslaught continues. The breeze at Muskoka Highlands keeps most winged raptors away from you while you are golfing!

The Fire index

The Fire Index is HIGH in this hot dry weather. Amazingly, the province looks pretty wet and at little risk. It is still time to be careful with our use of outside fires to reflect this changeable condition.
