The Overview

Give Mother Nature time and she will change her mind. The stronger north winds have pushed into the region and moved the warmer front well south, leaving light snow for the morning, heavier mid-day and out of the region by late this afternoon . This will make for messy driving but great sledding and skiing as well as other on-the-snow activities. Winter punches back tonight with a deep drop. The winds change from the North today to the South tomorrow. Near-zero temps return on the weekend.

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -3C(-7C) and it will fall to -8C (FL-14C) in the afternoon and then drop to -24C (FL -31C) overnight. Winter is punching back – for a short time.
The winds are out of the North at 11kph. This has pushed further south than we saw yesterday, and so the big snow has dissipated fore the most part. Late tomorrow, the winds will shift back to the south, moderating the temperatures once again.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 7:21AM, Sunset – 5:42PM. The quiet melt is now happening. Less than 30 days til equal day and night.

Road Report

Mother Nature whacked the snow plow beehive and the plows are buzzing around the roads across the province. Hwy 11 corridor shows as clear but the 400 series show as partly covered. Secondary routes are snow covered for the most part. This will make for a messy commute this morning, and hopefully not fore the return trip.

Weddings are a special day for many people involved. Here at Muskoka Highlands, we reduce that stress with attention to every detail.
But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.
