The Overview

Welcome back Winter – unless you have to travel today. This snow front will stay with us through today and tomorrow and leave behind snow streamers for a few more days. The NW winds will pull moisture from GBay and dump it on us. The roads will be tricky. But the sledding and skiing will be on some new white stuff which will be fun. The Spring forecast is for normal temps – but what has normal become? It is forecasting above normal precip fore our region which could lead to some flooding. Wiarton Willie is nervously awaiting Spring – is he right?

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -3C(-7C) and it will hold at -3C (FL-9C) in the afternoon and then slip to -6C (FL -13C). Old Man Winter is brandishing his weather sabre.
The ill winds start the day from the NE in the 15kph range and stay there fore the day bringing the snow at around noon. Tomorrow they will shift to the NW with a funky whirlpool of wind swirling around Marmora in an odd occurrence.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 7:01AM, Sunset – 6:00PM. Gotta love the 11 hours of daylight! The sun and wind will work their magic now getting us closer to Spring. March 17th – equinox.

Road Report

Road report – The road system in our region is in great shape, but the plows are out on the roads in SW Ontario which are snow covered due to snow yesterday, today and tomorrow. Starting around noon today, travel will get tricky for 48 hours as the snow gets into Parry Sound Muskoka.

School Bus Status

School bus report – no weather delays today yet but keep watching – this could change!

Snowmobile Report

Snowmobile Trail Update – OFSC is reporting 22297 km of open trails. This new snow will provide some relief and possibly reopen some trails. But most of the sledding will have to happen in the North for March.

Ski Report

The Ski Hills are still in good shape with nearly all runs and lifts open. The bases look good which should carry them into Spring Break. The new snow will make for fun skiing on the weekend. Detailed info at

A Special Day In A Wonderful Setting

Weddings are a special day for many people involved. Here at Muskoka Highlands, we reduce that stress with attention to every detail.
But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.
