The Overview

The winds are battling for dominance of our region as the 45th parallel remains the battle line. The south winds are pushing quite the rain front towards us, arriving late tonight. It is looking like we will get rolled over by freezing rain and then rain overnight and through Saturday. The faint hope is that the North winds will increase sooner and keep the rain south of Muskoka Parry Sound. Let’s cheer for the North winds!

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at +3C(FL -1C) and it will rise to +5C (FL +2C) in the afternoon and then keep going up to +4C (FL +0C) overnight. Special Weather statement issued for Saturday. We could be in fore some flooding if all of the projected precipitation hits.

The warmer winds are from the South at around 10kph late for most of the day. Tonight we will see north winds over GBay pushing back on the warm front, bringing rain, freezing rain and snow close to Muskoka Parry Sound. Tomorrow the winds move through North to NE later in the day. We keep hoping these winds will push the warmer wetter air further South. Stand by on this one. Reality hits overnight and early tomorrow.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 7:54AM, Sunset – 4:55PM. The day is lengthening by 4 seconds daily – we have gained 87 seconds of daylight since Winter Solstice.

Road Report

The plows are out in Central Ontario. Today will be quieter than tomorrow. These incoming weather fronts will be a serious challenge to the operators. Best of luck this weekend crews!

School Bus Status

School bus report – no cancellations at this point – should be no reason to cancel today! But keep checking for late changes.

Snowmobile Report

Snowmobile Trail Update – there are still no trails officially open south of Temiskaming. Even the far north is sketchy. This weather front will not help the trails.

Course Update

There are 90 days til green grass. But your golf season can begin today. The hi-def indoor simulator is operating and ready fore you and your foursome. Keep the banter going all winter. Now is the time to start getting the swing in shape fore opening day, or before you might be headed South fore a golf trip. Call the clubhouse 7056461060 to book your time.

It is looking less likely that the rain fronts approaching Southern Ontario remain south of Muskoka Parry Sound. The grass loves this white duvet. It is quietly sleeping under all of this, getting ready for the sound of the ball landing on it somewhere – hopefully the fairway!
