Hello September. Now we know you are going to throw some weather curve balls at us – being sunny when the weatherman says rain. And we know you are shortening our playing days. But we love you and your crisp blue skies. Your warm days and cool nights are perfect for the travelling golfer who likes to hear nature outside their window. Let’s see what you bring this year!!
Stay active here at Muskoka Highlands, your Community Golf Course. Stay engaged. Golf, Lawn Bowl, Foot Golf.
Our opening temperature at 630 is a warmish 14C (FL14C) – getting slightly warmer to 27C (FL35C). Back into the sauna!!
The UV will be 6 today as the sun has uninterrupted access to our exposed skin.
The Air Quality Index is quiet at 1 reflecting the clear and less humid air we are breathing. Shout out to Western Canada – breathe easy!!
The Pollen index remains moderate with ragweed in full blossom. The cooler weather will help but ragweed loves to spread pollen. The sneezes are here fore a while yet!!
The Pesky Fly Index is moderate. The house flies remain in abundance, and the wee biters are out. Lots of swatting!! If you want to swat a golf ball, see you on the first tee.
The Fire Index is remaining LOW with this rain. Everything is now soaked – tough lighting a campfire if your wood was not covered. My what a change!
Earlier this week, we had to watch and listen to the weather prognosticators call for dire conditions today. Once again – you can’t predict the weather accurately more than 24 hours out – unless it is sunshine all the time. But this isn’t July. The next time you see a 5 or 7 day forecast til next July – ignore it. It will be wrong.
There is lots to do out of doors. Maybe FootGolf here at Muskoka Highlands. Or Lawn Bowling. Or celebrate your time together with a game of golf with your cottage guests. You might want our Cottage Pass (click here for more info). A great way to plan your golf season! And remember – you can bring your dog to Muskoka Highlands. It gets their walk in with yours!!
