The Overview

A clear day ahead with no precip on the radars. There is weather crossing below Lakes Erie and Ontario – but nothing coming our way. The temps will remain in the quite livable range through the next 2 weeks. The heat from the sun is increasing daily -even through cloud cover. While the ground is still covered in snow/ice, the melt has begun and we are headed for an early Spring – or so says Wiarton Willie!

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at +1C(-4C) and it will stay at +1C (FL-3C) in the afternoon and then drop to -6C (FL -9C) overnight. Winter is losing its punch.

The winds are out of the West fore most of today at less than 15kph. Tonight they will shift to the South dropping to 5kph. This is snow weather – but we will be dry through Wednesday.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 7:35AM, Sunset – 5:27PM. Even with a cloud cover, there is heat radiating through to dark surfaces melting snow.

Road Report

The plows are out on Hwy 11 from North Bay to Barrie, and East that. They should be cleaned up this morning as we are getting no new precip fore the next few days.

School Bus Status

School bus report – no cancellations at this point. The busses should be happier starting up today.

Snowmobile Report

Snowmobile Trail Update – OFSC is reporting 197220 km of open trails. That is up a wee bit again from yesterday. I hear from the sledders that they are out as much as possible right now as it was a late start and Wiarton Willie is calling fore an early Spring!
There are 66 days til green grass. The Waste Management Open finished with a dramatic playoff hole. It is where golf is headed – a social event with a competition on the side. We know you are getting restless to golf and party. The golf bug bite will continue to itch and needs to be scratched. The hi-def indoor simulator is operating and ready fore you and your foursome. Book now! It is time to start getting the swing in shape fore opening day, or before you might be headed South fore a golf trip. Added bonus – Hendrik is here to steal your clubhead covers – and cuddle. Call the clubhouse 7056461060 to book your time.

The grass is not likely to know things are warmer up top, so it will continue to sleep under the cover. We will get the grass’s opinion soon enough!

The Simulator is Open!

When the golf bug bites and you can’t find a tee deck open anywhere, what do you do? You head to Muskoka Highlands where we have a state of the art hi-def simulator at the ready fore your game. With over 20 courses, we have a course fore everyone. And if you want a gathering with golf involved, we have all sorts of games on the simmy that your entire group can play. Pebble Beach is the flavour this week….and it is on the Tour Schedule this week as well!

The Dogs

Dog Update – The new pup is a yellow male – Hendrik. He is home now. The orientation has begun, the training is next. Many visits begin in 70 days!

Wizard is in the Autism Assist program. The trainers love him as he is so huggable!

We have heard from Angus and his owner Bill – great story that we will tell in the new year. Ancaster (Ellis) is hosting a major fundraiser in March. And Gavin continues to impress his new owner.

A Special Day In A Wonderful Setting

Weddings are a special day for many people involved. Here at Muskoka Highlands, we reduce that stress with attention to every detail.
But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.

Do you want to feel the warmth of a timber-frame clubhouse? Drop us an inquiry – We will respond and we will work with you to make your day special.
