The Overview

The weather almost does not matter over the next 3 weeks as Canada grapples with the Covid19 pandemic. We can’t spread the virus if we do not see each other. And this seems to have truly taken hold here. The only thing that is not officially canceled is Spring. It is coming. Tuesday we start to get more light than dark and this is good. The temperatures remain in flux, keeping the melt at a reasonable pace, reducing the chance of flooding. The roads are all in good shape with little chance of snow in the region until at least Tuesday. The ski hills, while still with base, are closing due to Covid19 concerns. The snowmobile trails are closed due to conditions. And so we ride into the future not knowing when this isolation will end. But the sun will shine and we all can walk about quietly keeping our exercise routines intact however possible.

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -6C(-9C) and it will rise to -1 (FL-4C) in the afternoon and then slip to -10C (FL -15C). Back into the chill for a day!
Today the winds continue from the NE at 10kph gradually slowing in speed to 7kph this evening. Overnight, they swing to the SE staying more like a breeze in the 7kph range while continuing to swing directly to the South. The wind direction is almost tidal these days – tide is in, from the South, tide is out, from the North.

School Bus Status

School bus report – no weather cancellations at this point. And none until April.

Snowmobile Report

OFSC is reporting 11605km (yesterday 11731 km) of open trails. The weather north of Hwy 17 has remained winter-like, with their trails remaining mostly open. Here in PSM, we are truly in transition as the golf carts have nowhere to go either.

Ski Report

The Ski Hills are showing not only the stress of this weather but now some are closing operations to weather the Covid19 pandemic. The little green dots show the hills that are technically open. But in separate news, Blue Mountain has stopped operations due to Covid19. Best check with your hill to get their conditions directly from them. Detailed info at onthesnow.ca/Ontario.

Course Update

There are 26 days til green grass – the chill is slowing the melt and this is likely good fore all. Golf is so close – the heart will be racing knowing green grass is starting to appear. And golf is not a crowd sport so it is a safe alternative in these trying times. Know your partners and you will be able to manage your environment.
Your clubs will know this and will want to hit a ball. Do you? Is your game ready for the golf season? We know you are getting restless to golf with your friends. The golf bug bite will continue to itch and needs to be scratched. While getting warmer, it is still not warm enough to get outside and play. Nothing beats a few holes of golf with your family and friends. The hi-def indoor simulator is operating and ready fore you and your foursome. Or bring 8 and play a two-person scramble with 4 teams. It is time to start getting your swing in shape fore opening day. We will clean up the rust on your first swings as part of the deal! Call the clubhouse 7056461060 to book your time.

The water continues to flow across the course under the last of the snowpac. The sun is starting to expose the greens and they are in great shape. Stay tuned to our site for pics of the re-birth of the golf course – one that happens every Spring.
