The Overview

Goodbye April – and try to not let the door hit you in the butt when you leave! An ugly month on many fronts. This big front of rain is drenching the golf course and anyone outside. It will remain in place through the afternoon and then head east and away from PSM. Tomorrow is looking clear. The winds will quiet this afternoon – maybe it will be the normal sunny sunset again. Hey Mother Nature – rain at night is good by us! We are getting close to the next chapter in the reopening saga. Doug likes to tell a long story it seems. All of the other provinces have all decided to name golf as an industry sector that can open quickly. So we are hopeful Ontario will follow these examples. It is time to assess the risks and start moving in a positive fashion. Golf poses very low risk in moving forward. Courses are trained in controlling the flow of patrons. This will just have a few new wrinkles to it. We do it every day in our lives. I think we can handle this responsibility mostly. There are some golfers who leave common sense at home. We deal with them politely and professionally. This will not change in C19 times.

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at 10C(FL 7C) in cloud over. It will warm to 13C (FL 13C) in the afternoon and then cool to 7C (FL 4C) overnight. Wet n windy. Winds – SE breezes starting at 25kph and dropping back to 6kph later in the day. This is bringing in the rain fore the day. The NW winds are blowing well West of us, but this will change overnight as they move into our region, with the temps going down as a result. 200430wi

Allergy Index

The Allergy Index is LOW with the rain knocking the pollen out of the air. Thanks to Cedar, Juniper and hardwoods like Boxelder and Maple Alder who are budding and starting to exhaust their Spring pollen. 200430al

UV Index

The UV index is LOW with heavy cloud today. The sun is ramping up to full power but nobody will be outside to feel it. 200430uv

Hendrik likes this view. He is loyal and stays around home. He keeps our Cortisol (stress levels) in check and fore this we are grateful. With the ponds now open, he is quite happy to watch any activity on them.

A Special Day In A Wonderful Setting

Weddings are a special day for many people involved. Here at Muskoka Highlands, we reduce that stress with attention to every detail. But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside. Do you want to feel the warmth of a timber-frame clubhouse? Drop us an inquiry – We will respond and we will work with you to make your day special.
