The Overview

The jet stream is dipping well south. The radar is clear through Friday – no precip of any form. There is still nothing forming up. Cold and clear – as it was overnight. Travelling could be a challenge with streamers and black ice but caution will allow fore this. Is this Winter’s last gasp? This is the light chatter on the weather channels.

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at -14C(-18C) and it will rise to -5C (FL-8C) in the afternoon and then drop to -15C (FL -21C) overnight. A wee bit warmer than yesterday but not as warm as the weekend will be.
The winds are out of the NW at less than 10kph fore the day shifting to the East overnight. Tomorrow they swing to the SE in the morning and then South late in the evening. This will bring the jet stream back north, with “warmer” weather.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 7:40AM, Sunset – 5:20PM. We have gained 147 seconds of daylight since Winter Solstice.

Road Report

– The plows are out in small sections across the province south of GBay with streamers likely, and north on Hwy 17 corridor. The Central Ontario plows are resting.

School Bus Status

School bus report – another cold wait fore the bus this morning. No cancellations at this point. Smile – it will be “warmer” by Friday.

Snowmobile Report

OFSC is reporting 16300 km of open trails. That is up a wee bit from yesteday. We are hoping fore snow to restore some of the trails.
There are 71 days til green grass. The Wild Waste Management Open is on this weekend. It is a rowdy affair – just like your golf game. We know you are getting restless to golf. The golf bug bite will continue to itch and needs to be scratched. The hi-def indoor simulator is operating and ready fore you and your foursome. Book now! It is time to start getting the swing in shape fore opening day, or before you might be headed South fore a golf trip. Added bonus starting tomorrow – Hendrik is now here to steal your clubhead covers – and cuddle. Call the clubhouse 7056461060 to book your time.

The deep chill should not get through to the grass given this solid cover over it. Let’s hope the grass has the same opinion!

The Simulator is Open!

A Special Day In A Wonderful Setting

Weddings are a special day for many people involved. Here at Muskoka Highlands, we reduce that stress with attention to every detail.
But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.

Do you want to feel the warmth of a timber-frame clubhouse? Drop us an inquiry – weddings@muskokahighlands.com. We will respond and we will work with you to make your day special.
