The Overview

The weather is clear fore the day (we called that yesterday as well – but radios did not). Sunny and spring-like temps will make it a wonderful day fore outside activities (think golf). The bugs are back -they live here too, and we are their source of food. A slight breeze and they lose. So a links style course is the perfect design. Open airy – fewer bugs.

The Radar Never Lies!

Our opening temperature starts at 11C(FL 11C) with brilliant sunshine. It will warm to 20C (FL 20C) in the afternoon and then cool to 7C (FL 5C) overnight. A great weekend ahead
Winds – the winds have all seemed to agree to let the Northerlies whistle fore a couple of days. They will be at bug-clearing speed of about 13kph. This will change sometime late Monday.

Daylight Hours

Sunrise – 5:31AM, Sunset – 9:01PM. A brilliant sunshiny day….

Bug Report

The Bug Report – The not so wee air force has taken flight! The mosquitos are hitting high gear. Surprisingly, the black flies are later this year – but they are here now. Here at Muskoka Highlands, the ever-present breeze keeps them mostly in Bracebridge.

Allergy Index

The Allergy Index is VERY HIGH. The honey bees have their call out fore pollen – and so it comes in waves. We will be able to enjoy the fruits of their labour later this summer. In the mean time, we will sneeze into our elbows.

UV Index

The UV index is VERY HIGH in this brilliant sunshine. The sunburns will show tomorrow for those not properly protected. There is such a thing as too much Vitamin D…

Course Update

Calm is returning to society. The anger has been vented. The frustration released. Now we seek solutions. When I need to think, I head for the first tee to distract my brain with a process that has been ingrained in my head since I was 7 years old and played 54 holes per day. Golf is a salve on a mental wound. Try it. It will work if executed in its purest form.

We are starting to develop options for hosting golf events that will fund raise fore a community event. While the steak dinner is likely out of reach fore now, the playing of the event and awarding of prizes can be done on a flow through basis. Give Don a call at 705 646 1060 and we can discuss options. We believe the community cares about your commitment and will support you with the right options.

Are you of age less than 40? Ask about our graduated member programs. $10 per year under 26, $20 x age til you are 40. We know you need to keep some cash for living – so we have made this as affordable as possible. Call us – we will confirm this.

Determination and hard work will make you a better player. A lesson helps! Let us know – we have great programs from the beginner to the player.

This wee chick was abandoned so we tried to help with flight school off the deck.

A Special Day In A Wonderful Setting

Weddings are a special day for many people involved. Here at Muskoka Highlands, we reduce that stress with attention to every detail.
But our distinguishing feature is our setting – both inside and out. The clubhouse is designed to hold about 85 guests and the picture shows how this can happen. For larger parties, we engage a tent professional to create a unique setting outside.

Do you want to feel the warmth of a timber-frame clubhouse? Drop us an inquiry – weddings@muskokahighlands.com. We will respond and we will work with you to make your day special.
